Brief bio:

1987-present: Accompanist/assistant choir director; musical director for over 40 musical theater productions at Newport Harbor High School and Corona Del Mar High School.

2010 - Organist for St, Boniface Catholic Church, Anaheim, CA

2008 - 2009: Organist at La Purisima Catholic Church in Orange.

1990-2008: Organist/assistant choir director; director of the children's choir at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church, Long Beach

2008-2010 Sub-Dean for the executive board of American Guild of Organists, Orange County Chapter.

2005-present: Accompanist at Cornelia Connelly High School. Organist/pianist for a two week long tour of Italy in 2006, including Florence Duomo and St. Peter's Rome; Two Week tour of New York in March 2007, including St Patrick's Cathedral.

2006-2009: Accompanist for the Orange County Catholic Chorale, Brian Dehn, conductor.

1999-2006: Assistant Music Director for Opera Pacific's Opera Camp, Summer youth program.

Scottish Highland Bagpipes: Recorded "Rhythm of My Heart" for Rod Stewart and "Tubular bells 2" with Mike Oldfield; Winner of the MacCrimmon Quaich for Piobaireachd at Santa Rosa, CA; Winner of the Southern California Piping Championship; 3rd Place Open Piobaireachd, Pleasanton, CA;  toured and competed with the pipe bands: Cabar Feidh, the Gordon Greys, LAPD, Beach Cities Pipe Band. Many "Brigadoon" performances, including Musical Theater West, Chapman University, Downey CLO, Buena Park CLO, Irvine HS, Mission Viejo HS.

Tin Whistle, Irish Flute and Harp with the Tradition, Innisfree, Dennis Doyle, The Ploughboys.

Kevin has performed in China, Italy, New York, Japan, Okinawa, Australia, Canada, Scotland.

Kevin Weed regularly plays for concerts, shows, rehearsals, classes, lessons, as a substitute, etc., mostly around Orange County, CA. In addition, He composes for all the groups for which he regularly accompanies.


Organ Bio for Kevin Weed:

Kevin Weed was organist for Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Long Beach, CA, from 1990 to 2008. He served as Children's Choir director for 3 years and started the adult handbell choir.

Kevin was organist at La Pusirima Catholic Church, Orange, CA, 2008-2009

January 2010 he is organist at St. Boniface Catholic Church under choir director Brian Dehn.

In 2005, Kevin began accompanying for Brian Dehn at Cornelia Connelly High Scool in Anaheim, CA. In addition to local concerts, Kevin accompanies their international tours and has been organist for masses and concerts on many different organs including those at Florence Duomo, St. Peter's, Rome, and St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York.

Kevin soon became the organist for Mr. Dehn's other choral ensembles, Meistersingers and The Orange County Catholic Chorale, with whom he has performed Durufle's Requiem, Mozart's Requiem, Beethoven's Mass in C and many shorter works.

Kevin has been the organist for William Locke's choral ensemble, The Musica Sacra Singers since 2008, performing shorter sacred works.

In 2008, Kevin composed a program of music for Organ and Bagpipes. Kevin, playing the bagpipes with Larry Kolokowski, organist, performed the program at First Presbyterian Church, Garden Grove, CA, and in Escondido; both of these were for local American Guild of Organists chapters. Kevin became sub-dean for Orange County AGO (2008-2010), helping to plan and perform in various programs.

In March of 2009, Kevin wrote and premiered his Organ Concerto in D (click to see video) with the Praise Symphony Orchestra at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church.
